At the age of 21, Richard Paganes established the inaugural Tubby’s Sub Shop in St. Clair Shores, a Detroit suburb. Tubby’s swiftly gained popularity within the Detroit area due to its distinctive flavors, superior product quality, and generous servings.

Tubby's first drive-through restaurant opened in Westland, marking a period of deliberate growth prioritizing franchisee quality and prime store locations while preserving its family-run ethos.

Bill Kiryakoza became a partner and Executive Vice President of Tubby’s, working with Robert to modernize the brand and stores, thereby perpetuating the company's successful legacy.

Tubby’s consistently offers premium sandwiches and maintains over 65 outlets in Michigan, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to growth and quality.
